This last week was really, really stressful. I had several tests, including an absolutely brutal chemistry test, on which I did not do very well at all. I really need to step up my game in that class. However, the weekend made up for it many, many times over. I was able to see Eva Hall’s performance in the All State Orchestra performance in Fort Collins, saw my family and cousins back in Woodland Park, and then had a great Valentine’s day to top it all off.
Coming back, though, I was met with a huge surprise. As I was entering my room, Miles (my roommate) was just about to take the last load of his belongings to his car. Miles apparently has had a pretty rough semester, unknown to me, and has decided to drop out of school for this semester at least. He is going to go get a job back at home in Oregon, and perhaps return to college next semester or the one after that. I wish him the best, and I am glad I made it back in time to see him off.
That does mean that I have the room all to myself, though, for the remainder of this semester! Probably the only big change that will entail is moving my dresser to his side of the room and his desk to my side of the room to maximize my working space. I also could potentially move my bass into the room, which is really, REALLY tempting. Only problem is I would have to move it back to the music building every Monday for Orchestra on Tuesday since I don’t have time before class on Tuesday. That would allow me to practice much more, though! I also will be able to keep the room neater and cleaner since I have complete control over it.
If I do any drastic changes, I will be sure to send pictures! I do wish I had known before I left home that Miles would be moving out…I would have brought the bass stand here from home. As is, it would be kind of awkward to have the bass in here, as the floors are slick and I don’t trust my rock stop nearly that much.
Have a great week, and I will talk to you all soon! -Christopher
